Random Thoughts on Thursday

This week’s RToT comes to you from our new house. Hurrah!

~ moving to a new house is a good way to get some exercise; moving to a house with stairs is even better. Up down up down up down…and that’s just the past half hour. My butt is totally going to benefit from this.

~ it took less than 24 hours for Pickle to navigate a stair or two; now, six days later, he can climb all the way to the top. He can’t climb down yet, which is a bit nerve-wracking, but he’ll learn.

~ it is possible to feel your heart literally aching in times of extreme sorrow. Yesterday, we attended the funeral of a wee baby born sleeping, and never before have I felt such anguish and pain.

~ when a recipe calls for brown sugar, but you don’t have enough, it’s better to bundle the kids into the car and go buy some more than substitute with white sugar. These Two-Tone Choc Chip Cookies just aren’t the same this week.

~ if my toes are cold, the rest of me just can’t get warm. Also – holes in socks seem to occur en masse, resulting in bulk replacing (I don’t darn)…resulting in bulk hole-happenings…

  1. Totally with you on the holes in socks… grrrrr, need to get me some more also!

Hearts do literally hurt, and I can’t even begin to imagine the anguish a funeral like this would cause to everyone attending… but of course, the parents most of all. Empty arms – urghhh, I am crying just at the thought of it, and I didn’t even know about it until now. Think I’ll have to go and hold my babies a little bit tighter today.

  2. Glad you are settled and some are making the most of new skills learnt…stair climbing is good for all.
Sorry to hear you have had sadness…it is very tough to take on board. xxx
